Challenge
The high-rise Leidos Headquarters was constructed in the midst of a bustling live-work-play development with busy roadways, residential areas, and heavy foot traffic.
Solution
It was critical to ensure public safety and avoid disruption to Reston Town Center. The MAZARINI team established traffic control measures, intentionally positioned an exterior hoist and interior chute, conducted just-in-time deliveries, arranged for off-hours trash removal, and sequenced work across multiple shifts.
Challenge
In the earliest days of the pandemic, the critically important U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency Headquarters project had more than 250 workers onsite.
Solution
To reduce risk to the 250+ workers on the DEA Headquarters, we implemented a split-shift program for all MAZARINI and subcontractor employees to limit exposure amongst groups. Site marshals monitored safe distancing, enforced masking, and ensured new protocols were upheld.
Challenge
We delivered delicate MRI equipment to the MedStar Lafayette Centre with limited access and challenging existing conditions.
Solution
A partial storefront and concrete slab were removed and extracted through a parking garage to provide access for the MRI installation. To ensure it remained level and preserve the functionality of the machine, multiple MAZARINI team members monitored and held the equipment in-place.
